Welcome to me website – many thanks to the wonderful Julia Douglas for making it happen.

The process I have evolved for making my work is quite slow so I usually have several projects on the go at once. I’m currently working on developing more ‘Deckle’ boxes. I exhibited six of these in the ‘Shared Practice’ exhibition at The Barn, Banchory in October and I have started working on another nine.

The title ‘deckle’ comes from papermaking – it’s the wooden frame on the mould used to shape the pulp when making paper by hand. Paper with a ununiform edge is described as having a deckle edge, where the excess pulp has escaped the deckle frame leaving a feathered edge.
